Calum Chambers has been handed Middlesbrough’s Player of the Month award for January.
The defender, who’s on loan with Boro until the end of the season, actually suffered a stress fracture to his foot towards the end of January. However, during the four matches he did feature in, the 22-year-old obviously impressed.
Chambers thanked those who had voted for him via his social media, pledging to come back from his current foot injury stronger.

Since joining Middlesbrough, the England youth international has featured 20 times over all competitions and when he’s fit is a regular starter. It’s good to see him not only getting game time, which is why he was sent on loan in the first place, but getting recognised for the work he does on the pitch.
Although Chambers did return quickly from the stress fracture in his foot, he’s since been ruled out again due to another foot injury. It’s not clear whether the two are linked.
