Arsenal have been scouting Everton’s Idrissa Gueye, a player likened to N’Golo Kante by the man who brought Kante to Leicester.
The 27-year-old arrived at Everton in the summer in a £7.23m move from Aston Villa. Steve Walsh, now director of football at the Toffees, was the man credited with bringing Kante to Leicester and he is the one who compared Gueye to the Chelsea man.
There are few details around about Arsenal’s interest, with reports simply claiming they have been scouting him.
He is under contract with Everton until 2020 and when he was signed, manger Ronald Koeman, said, “Idrissa will provide quality in our squad in the midfield and we want to increase the quality in the team.
“He was one of the players last season with the best record in interceptions and pressing in the midfield. We need this kind of quality and I’m happy to have him joining our club.”
He has one goal and two assists in 23 Premier League appearances this season as well as 74 tackles won, 50 interceptions and zero defensive errors.
