Arsenal are apparently keen on spending £40m on Celtic’s Moussa Dembele – a player they could have picked up for free from Fulham before he signed for the Glasgow side in the summer.

Dembele has been stealing all the headlines since his move north to join Brendan Rodgers.

17 goals and seven assists in 26 SPL games as well as three in six in the Champions League and an overall of 32 goals in 45 games make it even more surprising that Premier League clubs did not try harder to sign him in the summer.  Perhaps they did and the 20-year-old realised he would get more time at Celtic. Who knows.

Under contract until 2020, Dembele has a host of reported admirers including, but not limited to, Chelsea and Manchester United. Arsenal have been scouting him according to recent reports but we scout a lot of players.

Chelsea reportedly had a bid of around £30m turned down during the January transfer window.

Free. He was available for FREE in the summer.
