Arsenal have apparently registered their interest in Barcelona’s midfielder, Rafinha Alcantara.

  • The Brazilian has 6 goals and 2 assists in 17 La Liga games
  • Rafinha’s release fee is €75m

Reports from Spain believe that Rafinha would welcome the chance to move for regular game time, even though he’s been seeing more minutes recently with Barcelona due to a change in formation. Aware of the high competition for places, he wants a starring role with another side.

So say the reports from Spain, at least.

Arsenal have not made an official bid for the 24-year-old but they are not alone in their interest. Juventus, who seem always to be linked with the same players as Arsenal, are also sniffing around. As are Liverpool who have also registered their interest.

Rafinha is under contract until 2020. He signed for Barcelona from Celta Vigo in 2014 and signed a contract extension with the Catalan side in November, 2015. This deal contained a €75m release clause, although should he move it will likely be for considerably less than this.

Rafinha has suffered four different injuries this season. With problems concerning his ribs, Achilles (woop), a broken nose, and his thigh, it sounds like he’d fit right in at Arsenal.
