The latest player to be linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer is Ross Barkley.

Over the weekend, the media went mad with claims that the Everton midfielder is on his way to north London. Except, not necessarily to the red side.

Although Arsenal have been heavily linked with Barkley, Spurs are allegedly in pole position to sign him, since they’ve been long-time admirers of the England international.

The 23-year-old, who’s scored four and assisted seven in 27 Premier League appearances for the Toffees this season, is out of contract in 2018 and, according to the Mirror, this means Everton want to sell him this summer if he doesn’t extend.

What’s more is that Barkley is reportedly open to a move to London.

The Telegraph are claiming that Arsenal are planning a summer ‘shake-up’, which involves selling Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere, whose contracts also run out in 2018, which has led the tabloids to speculation that Barkley could be a replacement.
