Arsenal youth starlet, Kelechi Nwakali, has revealed that he’s happy to return to Arsenal next season once his loan spell has finished… if they want him.
- Kelechi Nwakali is the Nigeria u20s’ captain
- Nwakali is on loan at MVV Maastricht in Eerste Divisie
- Nwakali’s made 23 league appearances for Maastricht this season
- The midfielder has 4 caps for Nigeria’s u20s
The 18-year-old is currently enjoying getting regular football at Maastricht after signing for Arsenal in 2016.
However, while this may not be guaranteed upon his return to north London, the Nigeria youth international claims that it’s ‘no problem’ if Arsenal do want him back.
“I’m not the one who will decide what happens but all I can do is work hard and let the boss see that. If Arsenal decide that next season they want me to play in Arsenal, no problem,” Nwakali told Goal.
“If they decide they want me to come back to London, it’s still no problem. They have to make their choice and I will respect it.”
It’s good to know that the teenager is happy to return to north London considering he’s yet to make an appearance, senior or otherwise, for the club. His loan spell is only until the end of the season and it seems that the plan is to bring him back once it’s over.
