Certain press outlets are reporting that Arsenal are willing to bid €50m for Torino’s Andrea Belotti, but the player has already pledged his short-term future to his current club.

  • Andrea Belotti has an €86m release clause
  • He is chased by a number of clubs around Europe
  • Has already said he’s going nowhere

Andrea Belotti won’t come cheap. In fact, if his recent comments are to be believed, he won’t come at all.

“Of course I am staying,” Belotti told Tuttosport, via Football Italia. “I want to remain at Torino. In fact, I will stay at Torino next season. Let the Granata fans know! I am definitely staying.”

Belotti seemed like a great replacement for Alexis Sanchez. A hard working player who loves to put himself about as much as the Chilean, his goalscoring record isn’t too shabby either.

Still only 23, he’s tearing up Serie A with 22 goals and four assists in 26 Serie A games.

He’s doing all this while playing for an average Torino side who are in 10th place in Serie A. At 23, he’s not even close to his peak yet.

A clinical finisher with his feet and his head, he works hard defensively too. He doesn’t really have any weaknesses, unless you count the number of fouls he gives away because he loves to tackle so much.

And I don’t even think I’ve mentioned his speed. Zoooooooom.

In his first season with Torino, and in the top flight after an €8.4m move from Palermo, Belotti scored 12 and assisted five in 35 Serie A games. He’s hit double figures for goals every season, bar one, since he was 18.

No wonder he has a release clause of €86m.
