Kelechi Nwakali has taken some time off from football to return home to see his family in Nigeria.
The midfielder has shone since his loan was agreed with MVVV Maastricht. A regular feature of the side, he had been given the option of cutting short his loan had he failed to settle. But this never even seemed like it was an option for the 18-year-old.
Speaking to allnigeriasoccer.com this weekend, Nwakali said, “I came in on Saturday night from the Netherlands, I will return on Wednesday. The holiday is for three days.”
He also spent time back at his former club ASJ Academy and was praised for his generosity, giving them six sets of shirts, 18 pairs of boots, training kits, cones and corner flags.
Arsenal were denied a work permit for the Captain of the Nigeria U20 World Cup winning side but they might try again in the summer. Especially if he keeps on impressing as he has done so far.
