Former Arsenal midfielder and youth product Emmanuel Frimpong has landed in Sweden ahead of a move to AFC Eskilstuna.
The former Arsenal nutter had been playing out in Russia, but his contract with Arsenal Tula was terminated on Monday night by ‘mutual consent’. While with the club he wore the word ‘DENCH’ on the back of his shirt rather than his name.
Frimpong, 25, arrived in the country with his agent. He was first linked with a move to Sweden around a month ago, with the player looking like he was heading to AFC Eskilstuna on loan.
Something changed, however, and he is now a free agent. The deal with the Swedes will be for a minimum of one season.
After being released by Ufa, Frimpong was picked up by Arsenal Tula in the summer as a free agent. He played just 185 minutes for them this season. Of the 12 games he was not involved in, he was excluded from the squad completely six times. He played a total of 95 minutes in the league for Arsenal Tula.
