Shkodran Mustafi is confident that Arsenal can get a result when they face Bayern Munich in the Allianz on Wednesday night showing just how new he is to life in the last 16 of the competition with Arsenal.

What is most likely to happen is that Arsenal will get a lesson in this game and then win the return leg, dropping out on away goals. Of course, now I’ve said that, we might win the first leg. Either way, it’s only sensible to expect a lesson somewhere over the two legs.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…for Arsenal, the Champions League and Bayern Munich I think we’re up to ‘fool me 10 times.’

“It’s the first time for me, but I know that Bayern have regularly knocked out Arsenal in recent years,” Mustafi said in an interview with Sky Sports News Deutschland.

“We know that Bayern will be a difficult game, but we also know that if we play to our potential we can beat Bayern.

“Of course, Bayern is a massive team to face, but we now all about this from Premier League games against teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

“These are always big clubs with hugely talented players and games between two evenly-matched sides. The small details decide whether you win or lose.”
