Danny Welbeck scored two goals in his first start since May and speaking to the press after the game, he revealed how great it was to be back on the pitch and scoring .

“It was obviously good to be back out on the pitch after such a long time out,” he told BTSports.

“It’s been a horrible few months obviously, with the injury before, but it was great to be back out there doing what I love.

“I think because I had the experience before, coming back from an injury, you kind of know what to expect, even though it’s a tough time.

“The end game is to be back on the pitch.”

Danny is likely to find himself back on the bench for the game against Watford as the club continue to manage his knee to avoid him breaking down again.
