Two Arsenal youngsters have been selected for the tri-nations friendly tournament with France and Germany.
England Women had a week long training camp in Salou near Barcelona and played two games in preparation for the u17 elite round to be played in March in England.
Arsenal Ladies Development team defender Shannon Cooke and RTC u16 winger Jess N’Gunga were selected for the training camp.
They both started the game against France and subbed at half-time as England rotated the full squad in the tournament. France won the game 2-0 with both goals coming late in the second half.
Two days later, Germany hammered France with a 7-2 scoreline and on Saturday 28 January, England played against Germany.
Again, Shannon Cooke and Jess N’Gunga were in the starting 11 and both subbed at half-time like 90% of the England team.
The final score was a repeat of the France v Germany game with Germany winners by 7-2.
There are two months for the England u17 to prepare for the Elite Round where they will host Poland, Italy and Germany and try to qualify for the Euros to be played in Czech Republic in May.
