Standard Liege’s goalkeeper, Guillaume Hubert, has said that it’s a ‘pleasure’ to be linked with Arsenal.

The Gunners are said to be keeping close tabs on the 22-year-old, who we’ve reportedly scouted SIX times, and it appears the interest in mutual as the Belgium youth international sang Arsenal and the Premier League’s praises recently.

“It is a pleasure to learn that Arsenal are interested in me. I did not know about it before,” he admitted.

“A lot of top-class keepers play in England, and they are attracted to go there.

“I am a big fan of the Premier League, and any player would love to appear in it one day.

“But I will focus on playing for Standard. They are the club where I have wanted to establish myself.”

It seems Arsenal are at least a little interested if we’re repeatedly scouting Hubert but I’m a little surprised that, if this is the case, he hadn’t heard of our interest before.

So far, in the Belgian league, Hubert is yet to keep a clean sheet after making nine appearances and he’s shipped 13 goals.

During his nine appearances, Standard Liege have only won four BUT they’ve also only lost once. So while he lets in a few goals, he’s keeping out enough and his team aren’t doing too badly. They’re in eighth.

If we are interested, however, what does this mean for Wojciech Szczesny?
