Kelechi Nwakali has been gradually settling into life in the Netherlands following his season-long loan move to MVV Maastricht back in August.
The talented 18-year-old Nigerian, who has represented his country at youth level, can play as an attacking midfielder as well as on the wing.
Minutes were initially hard to come by as he gradually learned to deal with the pace of the Jupiler League, Holland’s second division. However a string of impressive performances have seen his place in the side cemented, and he’s starting to add goal contributions to his game too.
A video has emerged on social media showcasing the teenager’s skills with the ball at his feet in competition, during his eyecatching display against Helmond Sport last Friday. He created an assist and could’ve had more to his name but for a lack of a clinical edge from teammates, boosting his reputation in the process.
Showing good composure and agility to touch the ball down effortlessly while shrugging off the advances of his opponent before weaving his way past, it’s clear to see that Nwakali is gaining new supporters with the level of performance he is putting in currently.
Here’s the video for you to watch, enjoy:

As a result of his individual performance, the Nigerian was included in the Jupiler League Team of the Week and Dutch football magazine Voetbal International had this to say about him: “Nwakali gives MVV something extra. Everyone sees the qualities.”

It’s no wonder he was happy to remain in the Netherlands until the remainder of the current campaign as he’s enjoying a positive loan experience, one which will stand him in good stead once returning to north London at the end of the campaign.
