Mesut Ozil was spotted at a shopping centre in Sweden after being absent from Arsenal’s team meal on Monday.
As Aftonbladet report, it turns out that the playmaker is currently in Gothenburg, Sweden, after missing Arsenal’s team meal and could be rested for the Gunners’ FA Cup trip to Southampton on Saturday.
Arsene Wenger has spoken about resting the German before and it’s possible that the boss could save Ozil’s legs for our upcoming clashes against Watford and Chelsea in the Premier League, rather than risk him in a cup tie.
I probably don’t need to point out the trouble Arsenal have with players becoming fatigued over the course of the season and if the boss sees that Ozil needs rest, then he needs it. Although the FA Cup would be a brilliant chance at a trophy, the Premier League is obviously still priority and our players’ fitness is paramount.
