Former Arsenal captain and Rangers man, Mikel Arteta, believes that Jon Toral can be a success at Rangers after the 21-year-old sealed a loan deal to the SPL this week.
After a disappointing spell in Spain with Granada, Toral has linked up with Mark Warburton once again in a bid to catch the attentions of Arsene Wenger.
Speaking exclusively to Rangers TV, Arteta, whom Toral admitted had helped him make up his mind about Rangers, said, “He is lucky as he is joining a massive club, and he will realise that as soon as he moves.
“He will see the facilities, see the pressure there is from the supporters and the stadium – everything like that.
“He has to take that experience from day one. He cannot waste time – he is joining the team in a very important moment in January. He hasn’t got six weeks to adapt into a pre-season, and he has to do everything quickly.
“I trained with him for two years, I was close with him and I tried to help him by giving him advice when he needed advice.
“I think he can fit in well at Rangers.”
Toral is under contract with Arsenal until 2018. By that point, he will have been an Arsenal player for seven years.
