Speaking after Arsenal’s 2-1 loss against Everton, Arsene Wenger admitted that although the Gunners were a bit unlucky, the Toffees ultimately won because they had nothing to lose.

Everton haven’t been at their best this season and, therefore, when Arsenal rocked up at Goodison Park after only losing one Premier League game so far this term, no one really backed the home side.

Sure enough, Arsenal started the stronger team, going ahead early through Alexis Sanchez.

However, as Everton grew into the game, which the boss described as ‘physical’, and got an equaliser before half time, they realised that they really had nothing to lose and could go all out. Which they did, and won.
