ENGLAND
Jack Wilshere played the full 90 minutes in a seven-goal thriller at the Vitality Stadium against Liverpool. The creative midfielder was booked early in the second half for dissent after skipping past a handful of challenges before being dispossessed, then hauling down Jordan Henderson.
Glen Kamara did not feature for Colchester United this weekend, as they didn’t have a match with the majority of teams in League Two involved in cup action.
Goalkeeper Ryan Huddart made a string of important saves, including one which was destined for the top corner in stoppage time to deny Halifax Town from prevailing away from home in their 3-3 FA Cup tie.
NETHERLANDS
Both Kelechi Nwakali and Stefan O’Connor were not involved in MVV Maastricht’s matchday squad to face RKC Waalwijk away from home, a game they lost 2-0.
Meanwhile, right-back Tafari Moore started and played 81 minutes of Jong FC Utrecht’s 3-1 win against FC Emmen before being substituted.
SPAIN
Julio Pleguezuelo and Jon Toral were both not involved for their respective sides, as Mallorca and Granada featured in domestic action this weekend.
ITALY
Wojciech Szczesny kept his fifth clean sheet of the season during Roma’s 2-0 away victory over Lazio in one of Sunday’s league fixtures.
GERMANY
Takuma Asano started and played 72 minutes, creating his second assist in successive league matches during VfB Stuttgart’s 4-0 away victory over Erzgebirge Aue on Sunday afternoon.
PORTUGAL
Joel Campbell came on as a second-half substitute during Sporting’s 2-0 home victory over Vitoria on Saturday.
Calum Chambers (Middlesbrough) is expected to start for Aitor Karanka’s side in the final fixture of this week’s Premier League matchday on Monday evening.
