Swiss paper, Blick, claims that Borussia Monchengladbach are ‘mourning’ the loss of Granit Xhaka, with sporting director, Max Erbel naming him as the reason they are struggling defensively this season.

“We defend too naively,” Ebel said after his side lost 4-1 at the weekend when they travelled to Dortmund.
“We have been able to do this with types like Granit Xhaka and Martin Stranzl, because they took that into their hands, had a sense for the situation and regulated it.
“Such types are now missing us on the pitch.”
Gladbach are currently 13th in Bundesliga having lost six of their first twelve games, winning only three. They have conceded 22 goals.
Xhaka, meanwhile, is getting ready to face his brother and former side in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Granit Xhaka is also speaking, says "it is normal" to have taken a while to settle in at #AFC but knows "what potential I have got."

After a slow acclimatisation process, Xhaka has started the last two Arsenal league games in a row. If Arsene is feeling sentimental, that will soon become three.
