Arsenal reportedly plan to replace either Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil with Marco Reus.

Alexis and Ozil currently have 18 months left on their existing Arsenal contracts and, while the club is trying to tie them down to new deals, the Telegraph are claiming that we’ve got a potential replacement for one of them already in mind.

Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus.

Although he has more experience on the wing, Reus has been known to play centrally and even as a second striker, which I guess is why people are assuming he could replace either Ozil or Alexis despite them playing in different positions.

Reus has been linked with Arsenal for a number of years, and since he’s just returned from injury in fine form, he’s easy to make the connection with again.

The Germany international has scored one goal and assisted three in four Bundesliga appearances, while, in the Champions League, he’s scored three and assisted the same amount in just two games.

Not bad.

Saying this, the reports are claiming that our current priority is to tie Alexis and Ozil down before we start looking elsewhere, which, of course, makes sense.
