Like clockwork, Arsenal drew Bayern Munich in the knock-out stages of the Champions League but at least most Gooners saw the funny side.

Arsenal haven’t got the best record of getting past the final 16 of the Champions League but most of us figured, if we didn’t draw Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, we might have a chance of getting a bit further this term.

That thought was nice while it lasted.

Although we’re arguably more capable of grinding out a result against the Bundesliga giants this season than previously, it’s still not looking great.

Fortunately, as Gooners, we’ve learned to laugh at ourselves so most saw the funny side.
