Alexis Sanchez has hailed his on-pitch partnership with Mesut Ozil, praising the playmaker’s vision and first touch.

As soon as we bought Alexis from Barcelona in 2014, he slotted straight into the Arsenal first team alongside Ozil, who had already been at the club a year.

Although the Chilean was initially played out wide, he combined fantastically well with the German international.

Now, in 2016, Alexis is playing as a striker and teaming up with Ozil on a whole other level.

Between them, they’ve scored 22 and assisted 17 goals in all competitions so far this season. Considering 16 of these goals have come in the Premier League, and the whole team has scored 36, that’s pretty good going if you ask me.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Everton, Alexis hailed his teammate, pointing out how you can’t even compliment his first touch anymore because, at this stage, it’s more or less a given.

“I feel very comfortable playing alongside him,” said Alexis.

“He has great vision and there’s no need to praise his great first touch because everyone knows about it.

“He is a quality player and he is willing to win all the time. He wants to prove his quality in every game and every training session. That makes him special. He is a World Cup winner with a winning mentality, and he is still eager to win more.”

It’s good to hear that Alexis is comfortable alongside Ozil and, hopefully, at the club, with negotiations over a new contract ongoing.
