It’s been confirmed that Angel Di Maria will be able to face Arsenal on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old was seen clutching his thigh during PSG’s 2-0 win over Nantes at the weekend and was swiftly taken off. However, the Ligue 1 team’s manager, Unai Emery, later confirmed that this was just a precaution so that he’s definitely ready to face Arsenal on Wednesday.
“There is a rest day tomorrow, he will be given time to recover but I think he will be in London for the match on Wednesday,” he said.
According to L’Equipe, Di Maria is absolutely ready to face the Gunners in a Champions League match, which sees both sides vying for top of their group table.
Javier Pastore and Layvin kurzawa are still out for PSG but having Di Maria, who’s assisted 32 and scored 17 in 64 appearances since signing for the French club in 2015, in the squad will be a massive boost.
Both teams have already statistically progressed to the knock-out stages. However, finishing first instead of second means that Arsenal could face a weaker team, as we’ll be drawn against someone who finished second.
