Nacho Monreal netted his first international goal as Spain beat Macedonia 4-0 and he was clearly delighted with the whole thing.
Speaking to Teledeporte after the game, which put Spain on top of Group G thanks to goal difference, Monreal said, “I am very happy with the win because we had to win.
“We also had a good game and we have not been behind beyond a couple of plays that they had at first.
“The new coach is giving me the opportunity and I’m overjoyed, what more could you ask for?”

The match was Monreal’s 17th international cap and his second since earning a recall this year.
In one of those weird twists that football likes to throw up every now and then, Nacho made his debut in 2009 against Macedonia – the side he scored against on Saturday.
His appearance for Spain against Albania in October was his first international match for almost exactly three years.
