It’s bad news as former Arsenal fan favourite, Tomas Rosicky, is ruled out until 2017.

The midfielder hasn’t even had the chance to play more than 18 minutes for his new (and boyhood) club, Sparta Prague.

Sparta manager, David Holoubek, claims that the Czech international probably won’t play again this ‘autumn’, while the Daily Mail claims his return most likely won’t be until spring 2017. Months away.

It was Rosicky’s proneness to injury that led us to allow him to run down his Arsenal contract. In his final season for us, he played once for the senior team in the FA Cup and managed to pick up an injury during his 19-minute appearance.

He’s 36 and having a player of his age constantly watching from the sidelines isn’t good for business, even though we loved him.

It’s not looking good and although Rosicky hasn’t decided whether he wants to carry on with international football or not yet, we wish him all the best.
