When asked about whether Arsenal are over the negative impact of last season’s Swansea defeat, Arsene Wenger shockingly replied ‘no’ because we always have to fight to survive in the Premier League.

The boss spoke to the press ahead of our Middlesbrough clash having previously cited our loss at home to the Swans last term as the moment that killed our title challenge.

Even though we appear to be on the up at the moment, Wenger explained how you should never get over these results. How you always have to start from zero, stay vigilant and fight.

It’ll probably go down as one of Wenger’s iconic comments.

The Swansea loss was a watershed moment for a lot of Arsenal fans, myself included. It was the first moment I’d truly felt so completely deflated that I didn’t even want the rest of the season to play out. I was sure we’d failed, which we had since we didn’t win the League.

Hopefully, although we should continue to learn from it, we’ve turned a corner in terms of confidence and bouncing back. As much as I now hate that phrase.
