Arsene Wenger has revealed that he was ‘fuming’ with Arsenal’s decision to take a short corner just before they scored the winner in the dying seconds against Burnley at Turf Moor.

It did seem, initially, like a very strange decision that the boys opted to go short when they were into minus seconds of injury time, but it worked out better than anyone could have imagined as Koscielny, who loves an important goal, bundled it over the line to win the points for Arsenal.

Speaking to the media after the game, Wenger said when asked if the goal was handball, “I invite you to sit on the bench, it’s impossible to know.

“I was fuming because we played a short corner, it looked to me like we were at the end of the two minutes – why did we not take a direct corner? And I didn’t see the ball going in.

“But I’ve been told, yes, by the television, that we were a bit fortunate to have the goal allowed.”

Well, Arsene, whoever told you that is wrong.

Yes, it hit Koscielny on the hand, but as we already discussed, it was not handball.

Besides, even if it was, isn’t it about time we got some luck?
