Theo Wallcott has admitted that, since he’s on 92 Arsenal goals since he joined from Southampton in 2006, he’d be disappointed not to reach 100 this season.

The forward has been on fire so far during the Gunners’ 2016/17 campaign. The 27-year-old has scored seven in nine appearances over the Premiership and Champions League. Therefore, you can understand why he would be a tad miffed if he didn’t hit a century of goals before the season ends.

“It would be nice, obviously,” he admitted.

“It’s a long season ahead. I’d be very disappointed if I don’t make that but then again I’d rather the team performs and we win something rather than a personal goal. That’s my main goal. If I try to do my best for this team hopefully the team can benefit. I’m looking too far ahead here which I don’t like to do but there’s some good signs already.”

Of course, the England international’s priority is for the team to do well, which they’re supposed to say. However, there must have a pretty considerable part of him that can’t wait to prove all the doubters wrong. After so long fighting off injuries and being slammed for being useless, mostly by his own fans, it would feel good to finally reach such a massive milestone.

If he can become one of the 100 club, Theo will be joining the likes of Ian Wright, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. All he needs to do is continue. Sounds easy, right?
