Alex Iwobi has scored his first international goal as he gave Nigeria the lead against Zambia.
Despite some claiming that it was Iwobi’s competitive international debut, he had actually played 25 minutes for the Super Eagles in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Egypt.
This was, however, his first taste of World Cup qualifying and he marked it with a well-taken volley after 32 minutes.
The keeper could have done better, but we don’t care about that, do we?
Nigeria won the game 2-1 with Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho scoring Nigeria’s second 10 minutes after Iwobi gave them the lead.
