Mesut Ozil has not been his usual helpful self when it comes to assists this season.
Still to register one for Arsenal, he finally collected his first of the season when he set up Germany’s opener against the Czech Republic on Saturday evening.
Sliding the ball through for Thomas Muller to net the first of his two on the evening, it was Mesut’s 35th assist since he made his debut for Germany, a total no other player can match.
35 – @MesutOzil1088 has assisted the most goals for the @DFB_Team since his debut in February 2009 (35). #10. #GERCZE

Given that Ozil has created 16 chances for Arsenal this season, it’s a bit unfair to rate him on the inability of others in the side to finish them.
Plus, we mustn’t forget that he also has two league goals this season, one-third of the total he managed in the whole of last season.
