Juventus are reportedly lining up Olivier Giroud as a replacement for Mario Mandžukić.

The striker is apparently on his way out of the Serie A club, with reports claiming that he could be on his way to the Premier League.

Calciomercato claim that first on their list of potential replacements is Liverpool’s Divock Origi. However, if the Italians can’t get hold of him, they’re said to be after Giroud as back-up.

The Frenchman has two years left on his contract with Arsenal. So, you would think we’d perhaps be looking to tie him down to an extension soon. He’s currently injured and even then, he was finding it hard to get into the starting lineup. Therefore, you could understand how he could be looking to move elsewhere and other clubs are looking in his direction.

I’m hoping that there’s no truth to this. Mandžukić might not even be leaving Juve so this could all be a pointless discussion.

I do think that Giroud has a lot more to offer the current squad and it’d be a shame to see him go.
