Marouane Chamakh seems to have found his voice after signing for Cardiff City and has been talking about just about every topic under the sun.

The former Arsenal striker firstly slammed Arsene Wenger for not playing him enough while he was in north London and now he’s defending ‘ugly duckling’ (lol) Samir Nasri who has been ‘blamed for everything’. My goodness.

“Everyone has been able to see, he always was the ugly duckling,” the 32-year-old told RMC.

“Whenever there was a problem he’d be blamed and at some point I think he got fed up and that’s normal.

“He wants to play, be happy, have fun. He received a lot of awful criticism, so it’s really understandable that he retired from the national team earlier than expected. If he takes no pleasure for France and he does not see the positive side, it was right to draw a line under it all. This is normal, and I understand. If I were in his place I would have done the same thing.”

Although Chamakh was talking about France and not Arsenal in this instance, considering his earlier comments about Wenger, I wouldn’t be surprised if we fell under that umbrella.

It’s unusual because Chamakh is usually pretty quiet. The man must have a lot of pent up rage if even Nasri seems respectful towards his former club in comparison.

While the Moroccan international is playing in the Championship after an unsuccessful trial period with West Brom, Nasri is on a two-year loan with Sevilla since Pep Guardiola isn’t a fan.

Good luck you two…
