Arsenal are reportedly back scouting Udinese’s Jakub Jankto, a 20-year-old Czech midfielder who can operate in the middle of the pitch at top speed with silky skills.
Scoring his first goal in Serie A, against Buffon at Juventus no less, on Saturday, Jankto said, “I am very emotional. It was my first goal in Serie A and it was beautiful to have scored it here and against Buffon. We made mistakes in the 2nd half, but I believe we played a great game and deserved much more.
“My idol was Pavel Nedved. I saw him today but I did not have the courage to greet him. He was a great player for the entire country, he also won the Ballon d’Or.”
Reports started to emerge at the start of 2016 that Arsenal were interested in the player after a loan spell with Ascoli but nothing came of their interest and the player remained with his parent club and his loyalty and talent has been rewarded with four league appearances this season.
Although an Italian report claims that Arsenal were scouting him again, they also state that no ‘official movement’ has taken place yet.
It should be no surprise that Arsenal are keeping a close eye on him. He has shown great ability so far in his short career and with Santi Cazorla not getting any younger and Arsene Wenger loving a midfielder more than life itself, this could be a rumour worth paying attention to.
The start of this video is boring as hell, but stick with it. Jankto looks well worth watching:
