If you blinked at the beginning of Arsenal’s Champions League clash against PSG, you may have missed the Ligue 1 team’s early goal – here’s how it happened.

On first inspection you can see that a huge, looping cross from Serge Aurier glanced off Edinson Cavani’s head and into our net. It was the only decent thing Cavani would do all match but it hurt us early on.

Take a closer look and you can really see how Arsenal gifted PSG the goal.

Firstly, Nacho Monreal makes no effort to bloke Aurier’s cross, Shkodran Mustafi passes off the responsibility of marking Cavani, and Laurent Koscielny, who’s usually so reliable, actually moves away from the goalscorer.

Shocking.

Hopefully, as we always say, we can learn from this and, as Kos said post-match, not be asleep for the opening minutes of the game.
