Mauricio Pochettino claims he’s had good news about Harry Kane’s ankle ligament injury and the striker could return as soon as the North London Derby.

The Spurs boss gave an injury update ahead of their clash away to CSKA in the Champions League on Tuesday evening and it turns out that Kane could face a slightly shorter stint on the sidelines than was originally anticipated.

“Just half an hour ago, we received the information about the scan and it’s much, much better than we expected and maybe we can reduce the time,” Pochettino said.

“We are happy. The scan was very positive and we are very happy. But still we cannot give how long it will be to recover. But it is sure we are happy because this scan was much better. It’s difficult to say one, two, three weeks. But it’s true that it is much better than we expected, and very, very positive.”

The England international, who was stretchered off during Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Sunderland earlier in the month, was first estimated to make a return around the 12th of November, ahead of Spurs’ Premier League match against West Ham. However, a shortened spell would see him potentially return for the Arsenal match on the 6th of November.

Although we don’t ever want to see an opposition player sustain a serious injury, having Kane back in action will give our rivals a significant boost considering he’s scored four goals against us over the past two seasons.
