Nigeria’s new technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, is looking forward to having Alex Iwobi back after the country found it difficult to score against Tanzania without him.

The forward, who’s injured but expected to return soon, missed out on Nigeria’s previous match and the boss is looking forward to having him back for their World Cup 2018 Qualifier against Zambia on October 3rd.

According to The Guardian, Nigeria, the national side’s press office said that Rohr is hoping that both Alex Iwobi and Oghenekaro Etebo are back for the next match.

Nigeria did finally managed to beat Tanzania thanks to a goal in the 79th minute from Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, but it was far from an easy ride and having the attacking threat of Iwobi and Etebo back in the side should help them massively.

It goes to show that Iwobi isn’t just brilliant for Arsenal, his country also relies on him heavily. At just 20 years old, this is a massive achievement.

Selfishly, from an Arsenal fan’s perspective, it’ll also be nice to see him back in our squad. He may not be first choice but he’s a key squad player.
