Shkodran Mustafi congratulated Granit Xhaka on his goal on Saturday against Hull City.
It was the dying seconds of a Premier League match that Arsenal were already winning 3-1 when Xhaka decided he might as well just have a go. The midfielder hoofed the ball a third of the way up the pitch, looping it neatly into the Hull goal and sending the away end into jubilation.
Following the decent 4-1 result, Mustafi, who also played an entire match and is looking more and more solid by the minute, took to his personal Facebook page to congratulate his ‘bro’ Xhaka.
The strike was the Switzerland international’s first for the club and although Arsene Wenger doesn’t seem to like players shooting from range, let’s hope it’s the first of many.
Side note: It’s good to see Mustafi and Mesut Ozil sitting together on the team coach. They were apparently firm friends after featuring together several times for the German national team. Keep him happy, Shkodran!
