A combination of new signings and Young Guns trained ahead of Arsenal’s EFL Cup clash against Nottingham Forest.

Chris Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Krystian Bielik and Chuba Akpom all look as if they could travel to Forest for Tuesday night’s clash, with the latter two quite likely to start. Meanwhile, Granit Xhaka, who’s found it hard to get game time with the first team for some reason, Mohamed Elneny, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lucas Peres also trained alongside them.

This indicates that, as ever, we’ll probably be fielding a mixture of new talent with potential first team players who need game time.

I’m hoping that Lucas will get a look in and that Xhaka will get a start so we can properly see our new boys in action. From what we’ve already seen, Xhaka is brilliant and it’d be great to see him bossing an entire game.

Whoever we play, hopefully, we’ll give Forest a run for their money.
