Wojciech Szczesny was an unused substitute for Roma’s 1-1 draw with Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday night.
There’s no need to panic though. The goalkeeper has already been first choice for Roma’s three Serie A matches this season and considering Plzen probably weren’t considered stiff opposition, he was left on the bench.
Perhaps this wasn’t the best plan, since Roma drew 1-1 with the Czech team. The Italians initially went 1-0 ahead thanks to a penalty in the fourth minute, which Diego Perotti slotted home. However, in the 11th minute, Marek Bakoš put the hosts back on level terms.

I’m sure Woj won’t be losing sleep over his time on the bench.
