Gilberto Silva will join Edwin van der Sar and Gerard Houllier to discuss ‘Academies: A Foundation for Success’ at the upcoming Soccerex Global Convention at the end of the month.
The Invincible, who has now retired from playing, is currently the Technical Director at Panithanaikos, a team he represented towards the end of his career as a footballer.
Gilberto is expected to speak about his personal experiences of player development, contrasting those he experienced as a player with those he encounters in his current role.
Along with van der Sar, Houllier and Alain Belsoeur, the quartet will also discuss “the structures, resources and management required to form an academy that delivers success on every level.”
He will also make an appearance in the Love Football Zone, a new section at the annual convention, where he will discuss Street Child United, an organisation that strives to offer a worldwide platform for street children to enable them to have their voices heard and change how they are treated.
Gilberto is a Global Ambassador for the organisation.
Soccerex takes place in Manchester between 26 and 28 September.
