Freddie Ljungberg has been bigging up Jack Wilshere as claims Wenger and the midfielder had ‘talks’ take on a life of their own.

Speaking to the Daily Mail over the weekend, Freddie said, “Everyone knows Jack is an amazing talent

“He’s an amazing player. I love him.

“But I think if he can play 38 games for Bournemouth then he will be back here playing and starting again. I just think he’s had bad luck.

“He plays well, then after six or seven games, you think, ‘Oh he’s back’. Then he gets injured again. That’s a vicious cycle.

“I think if he can do that for 38 games, next season he will be back and he will be starting again.”

There was a lot of talk over the weekend that Arsene Wenger and Jack Wilshere had some sort of ‘heated’ discussion before he left on loan to join Eddie Howe at Bournemouth.

Claims were made that the boss had given him an ultimatum and told him his Arsenal career was on the line, but I don’t buy it for one second.

It started with a Sun article claiming the pair had a ‘tense’ phonecall but as it spread across the internet, the interaction became a lot more dramatic.

Ask any player who has ever played under Wenger and they will tell you the same thing over and over again – he rarely ever gets angry, even when he has 100% reason to do so.

In fact, some of the complaints you hear from fans about Wenger is the ’disinterest’ they think they see from him.

So, just beware of the stories that are doing the rounds.

It’s much better to listen to Freddie, a former player who knows Jack, knows Wenger and knows Arsenal.
