After Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-0 on Saturday, Eden Hazard spoke to SFR Sport and admitted that the Gunners had indeed ‘smashed’ the Blues.
Goals from Alexis, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil in the first half, as well as numerous chances in the second, meant earning the three points against one of our fiercest rivals was actually simple enough on the day. It’s not been like that for a long, long time and it’s understandable that the Chelsea team were disappointed in themselves afterwards (lol).
Speaking to the media, midfield Hazard admitted that Arsenal ‘smashed’ Chelsea and there was no excuse for it.

“Here are no excuses tonight. They smashed us.”
The literal translation into English does say that Arsenal ‘ate’ Chelsea but I’m assured by our French writer, Sylvain, that the actual translation is closer to ‘smashed’. Plus, as much as I wanted to beat Chelsea and was impressed by our performance, I don’t think I could fully support us resorting to cannibalism.
