Arsenal, along with several other Premier League teams, were reportedly at the Benfica v Besiktas Champions League clash this week in order to watch rumoured target, Goncalo Guedes, in action.

The 19-year-old Benfica striker played a full 90 minutes during the 1-1 draw, although he didn’t score.

Portuguese football expert, Tom Kundert, tweeted that scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and both Manchester teams were in attendance.

Realistically, we could have been there to watch anyone. Scouts attend far more games than we realise – that’s their job. However, we have been linked with Guedes before and he’s clearly a prospect for the future since he’s so young, yet starting in the Champions League.

Last season, he only scored three goals in 18 appearances in the Portuguese League and assisted six.
