Arsenal have been rewarded for their comprehensive win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night with a home tie against Reading.
It’s likely that we will see the same sort of lineup in this fixture as Arsene Wenger looks to win the competition for the first time.
Under Wenger, who celebrates 20 years in charge of Arsenal on Thursday, the Gunners have reached two league cup finals, but it is a trophy that is more connected with Tottenham than Arsenal. We’ve won it just twice while they’ve often made it their number one target because they can’t win anything else and have won it four times.
In fact, if you remove the League Cup as a trophy that anyone seriously cares about, Tottenham have not won a trophy in 25 years – not that you hear that every five minutes in the media like you did with Arsenal.

Games will be played on 25/26 October.
Another 7-5, anyone?
