Arsene Wenger recently described new boy Granit Xhaka as a leader and now the man himself also claims this.

In his new video on the Arsenal YouTube channel, Xhaka claims to be a leader. Even though he’s only 23, he points out that he was captain of Borussia Mönchengladbach before he came to north London.

Although we’ve not really seen enough of him to be able to really tell if he’d make a good captain, he is a commanding presence and we do need more of that on the pitch. What I’m curious about, however, is whether this is setting us up for him to be captain one day or whether this is just Arsenal’s way of answering our critics, who have claimed we’ve lacked leadership for years.
