West Brom have reportedly valued former Manchester United defender, Jonny Evans, at £30m.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal purely because we need a centre-back.

Per Mertesacker and Gabriel’s injuries mean we’re without senior players at the back and since Evans is pretty experienced, that’s probably why we’ve been linked. I’m unsure whether there’s genuine interest, although I wouldn’t put anything past us right now, but the general feeling amongst Gooners is that we don’t want him.

This may change on deadline day though.

Anyway, the former Red Devil, that Tony Pulis seemed very open to selling not long ago, is now apparently worth £30m, according to the Telegraph, and West Brom want at least £25m.

There’s no way he’s worth that and if Wenger spent that on Evans after everything, it wouldn’t look good at all. It would look desperate and a little strange.

Hopefully, it won’t come to that.
