Speaking after our disappointing season opener to Liverpool, which Arsenal lost 4-3, Arsene Wenger tried to reassure the fans that he’s still working hard to bring in one or two new players.

Arsenal’s problems go far deeper than just needing new signings. However, signing at least one new centre-back while both Per Mertesacker and Gabriel are out and a striker would really help.

Although most Gooners appear to have already given up hope, the boss was keen to reassure everyone that he’s still working to bring new people in. However, as usual, he will only make quality signings that make sense. Basically, he won’t buy anyone just for the sake of it.

No one’s asking him to buy players just because everyone else is, we’re urging him to because we legitimately need them. If we, as fans, can see this, then surely he must be able to and it gets so hard to defend him sometimes.

Hopefully, these signings happen and they happen sooner rather than later before he completely loses the fans.
