Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoyed a great pre-season and he looks as if he might be transferring that into a league campaign for the first time in a long while.

Setting off on one of his trademark slalom runs across the pitch Leicester’s Danny Simpson thought he’d be able to stop him if he just got in front of him.

He was wrong.

It’s probably best if you don’t get in his way, he used to play rugby, you know. You aren’t going to win that battle.

The Ox is looking fit, strong, focused, and while he’s still a bit of a defensive liability due to his insistence on always trying to dribble, no matter where he is on the pitch, he’s learning.

Slowly.

He’s looking exciting again after a disappointing season and that can only be a good thing.
