Despite only signing for us weeks ago, Granit Xhaka has slotted into the Arsenal team as if he was always meant to be there.

The Switzerland international gave us all a taster of his ability during Euro 2016 but when he finally stepped out in Arsenal’s red and white during our pre-season tour, most of us were well and truly salivating.

The 23-year-old possesses qualities that we’ve been lacking from the deep midfield role for a long time. In fact, it had been so long, that the fact he can genuinely do his job well is something of a shock for us. He’s… he’s passing FORWARD? And… and dictating play? What is this sorcery?!

Partnered with Mohamed Elneny, who also had a strong pre-season, it now looks as if we’ve actually got a rather well-rounded midfield, which is pretty nifty if you ask me, and I’m sure both will feature against Liverpool on Sunday.
