In honour of Shkodran Mustafi maybe, potentially, possibly, reportedly being about to sign for Arsenal, Who Scored decided to share a little stat: the Valencia centre-back has completed the most interceptions in La Liga for the last two seasons!

The German international, whose agent has confirmed that his client has come to an agreement with the Gunners and it’s just down to the clubs to thrash out a final deal now, is said to be worth somewhere between £20-£30m, depending on what you read. And if this stat is anything to go by, he’ll be worth it.

The 24-year-old has completed a massive 226 interceptions in La Liga over the last two seasons. More than any other player. Blimey.

To put this into perspective, Laurent Koscielny got 102 last season, so we’re looking at someone at around Kos’ level stat-wise. Of course, La Liga is different to the Premier League but after he’s adapted, he could be very exciting… if we do sign him.

IF we sign him. IF.
